While at college in North Carolina in the 1990s, Kurt became
one of the region's most sought-after DJs. His music collection
was always up to date and dance oriented, and he became
the DJ of choice when the party called for fun.
He carried his techniques to nightclubs and other venues
both in North Carolina and in the Kansas City region, when he
moved here in the late 1990s. Since then, he's expanded his
skills to include karaoke (ask him to sing Johnny Cash) and
video DJ services, including presenting themed dance
video-parties, video clips and entire movies.
Max was a seasoned musician before joining Kurt to form Sound Extreme. He was "on the road" with a professional dance band for more than a decade, and opened shows for a number of headliners as part of a recording rock band. After returning to Kansas City in the 1980s, he ran a successful recording facility and honed his skills as an audio technician and sound engineer. He later provided children's entertainment, which included DJ services, games and activities, at numerous venues throughout the Kansas City area. He's learned that some of those same activities are just as popular with adults as they are the kids.
